Iris

What if a flower could dance?

What if growth itself is a form of choreography?

What if turning toward light is a dance?

This work is a fragmentary study between botany and imagination, observing the flower not as a specimen, but as a living presence. Through moments of stillness and movement, the iris emerges as a performer, unfolding, swaying, and transforming throughout its life cycle.

Like all living beings, the flower follows the light. It grows, blossoms, fades, and eventually leaves behind only a trace of its existence. Yet photography preserves what is already disappearing, transforming a fleeting moment into a lasting image.

Rather than depicting a flower, this work explores the passage of time. The iris becomes a metaphor for a body moving through life: growing, searching for light, changing, and ultimately disappearing. Through the photographic image, these transient transformations are preserved, allowing a moment of life to outlast the living form itself.

The photograph becomes a fossil of time.
