The photographic series "Textures of the City: Leipzig" explores the architectural character of Leipzig through a typological approach. Focusing on façades, surfaces, and structural details, the work seeks to reveal the geometry, materiality, and contrasts that shape the city's urban landscape.

Rather than documenting individual buildings, the photographs isolate recurring forms, patterns, and textures, drawing attention to the visual language of architecture that often goes unnoticed in everyday life. Through repetition and comparison, the series highlights the dialogue between old and new, ornament and function, order and irregularity.

Inspired by architectural historian Turit Fröbe’s invitation to look more closely at the built environment, the work encourages a slower and more attentive way of seeing. It asks viewers to rediscover familiar streets and buildings, transforming overlooked details into subjects of observation and reflection.
